I think this is probably one of the hardest, if not impossible, questions to answer, “What is the best double din car stereo?”. I could give you an answer of course, but the problem with that would be that it would probably be the best double din head unit for me. But what you really want is the best for you.

And that is where the problem is, what is perfect for one person is not necessarily what another person wants. Which is why everyone needs to answer the question for themselves, and ignore those who want to tell you which stereo to get without knowing your circumstances.

So how do we do that? The first place to start, in my opinion, is with money. Yes, that’s right, the biggest dertimining factor I can see is how much money you’re willing to spend on your perfect car stereo. In general, the more money you spend, the better the equipment. But, don’t forget that you may not just have to upgrade the head unit. What about the speakers?, the subwoofer? do you need an external amp? Keep all these in mind when looking for a stereo, you want the best system you can get, otherwise if you just upgrade the main unit, you won’t get the results you are after, or that the unit can produce.

Also look at the functions you want. Maybe you’ll need to sacrifice one thing so that you can get a better performance in another area. For example, you might opt for better iphone/ipod connectivity, whilst sacrificing the gps abilities of the unit. It’s really up to you to look at the different functions and determine which ones have a priority, and which ones aren’t as important,or that you can live without.

Once you’ve decided on that, make sure you look at what other people are saying about it. If there’s negative comments about it, do they matter? For example, if someone complains about the difficulty of installation but you’re getting a professional to instal, it doesn’t really matter how difficult it is, does it?

If you’re looking for a new stereo or upgrading your system I wish you luck, and if you want any help in finding what you want let me know and I’ll see what I can find out for you.
